Tracy Wilson
Tracy Wilson is a loving daughter, sister and aunt from Oakland, California. As a lupus warrior for over 22 years, she has faced the challenges of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and lupus nephritis with resilience and hope. Her journey has included many struggles, but it has also been one of purpose and power. She made a decision to fight back — not just for herself, but for everyone impacted by this disease — by committing to advocacy and education around lupus.
She serves as a Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) support group facilitator, lupus ambassador, and longtime volunteer with the LFA’s San Francisco Chapter as a lupus walk planning committee member. Tracy has spoken at community events, churches, lupus education events, pharmaceutical companies and tables at health fairs, using her journey to raise awareness and inspire hope. She’s also attended advocacy events and advocated on Capitol Hill by speaking with CA state representatives. Her mission is to be a voice for the voiceless and help lead the fight toward a cure for lupus. Her life and experience certifies her as a lupus warrior.
Tracy is also the chairman of Block by Block Community Project in Oakland, which is a community group focusing on combating negative narratives about her city by hosting events that provide resources, connections, empowerment and unity — block by block. Tracy is also navigator and disability advocate for Families United For Equity. She embraces a life of advocacy in words, actions and deeds.
