Dr. Tesia McKenzie pursued a career in medicine due to her interest in disparities affecting minority women as well as oncology. She also has a passion for service and community education, which provides a unique perspective to the field of breast surgical oncology and allows her to address patients’ different and complex needs when it pertains to women’s health.
Dr. McKenzie joined Hackensack Meridian Medical Group to help provide comprehensive breast care for women with benign and malignant breast disease. The breast surgery program is recognized by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) and is held to the highest standards of care for patients with diseases of the breast. The team collaborates with other multidisciplinary teams of physicians to focus on the prompt evaluation and treatment of women diagnosed with breast cancer using state-of-the-art care from imaging and diagnosis to treatment and survivorship.
Dr. McKenzie received her undergrad degree from Rutgers University. She went to medical school at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. McKenzie completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at the Jersey Shore University Medica Center, and her Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship at the University of California San Francisco.
