Nicole Woznicki is a women’s health nurse practitioner with specialized expertise in gynecologic care, vaginitis and HIV care for women. She earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Michigan in 2013 and began her career as a registered nurse at the Detroit STD Clinic. There, she developed a passion for women’s health, particularly in the areas of gynecologic care and infectious disease management.
Her early work led to a role in the Vaginitis Research Clinic under the guidance of Dr. Jack Sobel, a world-renowned expert in vaginitis. Nicole went on to pursue her Master of Science in nursing, becoming a women's health nurse practitioner in 2020. Since graduating, she has continued her work in both the Vaginitis Research Clinic and Wayne State University's HIV Clinic, where she provides gynecologic care to women living with HIV.
Nicole helped to found the WSU HIV Perinatal Program, which aims to prevent the transmission of HIV from mother to child while ensuring continuity of HIV care for mothers throughout pregnancy and postpartum. Her work in the women’s health space has been published in multiple infectious disease journals, particularly related to bacterial vaginosis research.
With a commitment to improving the health and lives of women, Nicole is passionate about advancing education and care in both the clinical and research settings.
