Melissa Nassaney, DPT, PT, MS, is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who specializes in pelvic health for women and men. She is a board certified Clinical Specialist in Women's Health Physical Therapy and holds a Certificate of Achievement in Pelvic Physical Therapy. She loves to see her patients regain mobility and optimize their pelvic health so they can participate in the activities they love to do.
In clinical practice, Melissa works with patients and their physicians in areas including gynecology, urogynecology, obstetrics, urology, musculoskeletal, gastroenterology and colorectal medicine. She specializes in treating individuals who experience incontinence, bowel issues, pelvic pain and disorders related to breast and pelvic cancer treatments, pregnancy, menopause, musculoskeletal injury and issues with sexual function. Dr. Nassaney has developed and successfully grown programs in healthcare organizations such as Lifespan, Care New England and Performance Physical Therapy. She is continually involved in contributions to research, peer and community education, and mentorship development at varying levels.
Melissa has an extensive service history in advocacy as a chapter member of the Rhode Island American Physical Therapy Association (RIAPTA) that includes: Vice President, Legislative Committee Chair, State Advocacy Liaison, Federal Advocacy Liaison and Founder of the RI Women's & Men's Pelvic Rehab Special Interest Group. Melissa currently sits on the Legislative Committee for RIAPTA working towards legislative initiatives such as Compact privileges, Copay Equity and Diagnostic Imaging privileges.
During her play time, she enjoys hiking trails in southern RI, soaking up the beautiful coastline beaches, and freshwater boating with her family.
