Dr. DaCarla M. Albright is currently an Associate Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and an Assistant Dean for Diversity and Inclusion, with a focus on Wellness, at the Perelman School of Medicine. Clinically, Dr. Albright has a thriving practice as an academic generalist Obstetrician/Gynecologist, emphasizing wellness and prevention in women's health care. She has been in practice for nearly 20 years, with her clinical expertise ranging from prenatal care to gynecologic surgery, with a strong interest in breast health and screening practices.
Dr. Albright is a member of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO). Her academic interests are strongly focused in medical education, as the current Associate Clerkship Director for the Core Clinical Ob/Gyn Clerkship at the Perelman School of Medicine and Co-Chair of the Ob/Gyn Department Medical Education Committee. As a result of her excellence in teaching and empathetic approach to medical care, Dr. Albright has been rewarded with a Perelman School of Medicine Penn Pearls Teaching Award and a Gold Humanism Honor Society Induction. In 2018, she was also identified as a Top Doc in Obstetrics and Gynecology by Philadelphia Magazine.
Dr. Albright received her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School, followed by a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. In her early career, she practiced at Jamaica Hospital in Queens, New York, transitioning to private practice at Lenox Hill Hospital until her relocation to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2008.
