Chrissy Spears received her Master of Science in genetic counseling from The Ohio State University in May 2022. She works at The Ohio State University as an assistant professor where she helps run the High-Risk Breast Cancer Clinic as a genetic counselor. She also aids in surgical decision-making genetic counseling for individuals newly diagnosed with breast cancer.
Chrissy is passionate about oncology research, including assessing and did her graduate master’s thesis on prostate cancer and polygenic risk scores. She is currently a part of the Know Your Risk Study at OSU, which focuses on breast cancer and polygenic risk scores as well as the BRCA-P clinical trial, which assesses breast cancer risk-reducing effects of denosumab in BRCA1 mutation carriers.
