Is she too hot? Tired? Have a fever? Wouldn’t it be great if your baby could just tell you what was wrong? Now she can. Sort of.

A new wearable technology called the Sproutling Baby Monitor tracks heart rate, sleep patterns and temperature of your baby. It’s worn around the infant’s ankle and has an application for your phone or tablet.

While I’m hesitant to strap a device to my almost-1-year-old there are two features I am obsessed with:

*It can tell parents what the optimal room temperature is for sleeping based on their child's individual nap patterns. It will even point out whether lowering or raising the temperature by a few degrees will help baby sleep longer.

*It can notify parents if a room's noise level is too much for their baby, by sending a warning that their little one is about to wake up unless things get quieter.

The only downside is that this device must be worn on babies 6 months or older and so isn’t applicable to newborns.
