Organization's Mission Statement: Women's Services, a service line of Mercy Medical Center, is affiliated with Mercy Health Services, Detroit, Michigan. The local hospital consists of a referral hub hospital, PHO (specialty services), 14 community hospitals, and 40 primary care clinics located within a 13 county area. The women's service line consists of a primary care clinic employing physicians (family practice and internal medicine), nurse practitioners, RNs, licensed clinical social workers (individual and group counseling), massage therapist, and an education coordinator. The Center, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, practices an integrated collaborative approach, emphasizing gender expertise, preventive care, and informed decision making. Women's Services also provides patient and community education, a continence clinic, and the Mercy Center for Breast Health - case management for all patients with a breast cancer diagnosis. The service supports an annual professional seminar, funds development for various women's programs, and offers consultation and support for organizational programs such as domestic violence and forensic nursing. In addition, Women's Services developed and manages an award winning employee wellness initiative emphasizing psychosocial and spiritual health.
