Dear Colleague:
HealthyWomen is pleased to announce a roundtable event in Washington, DC, May 20, 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., to engage the women's health community with the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).
The event will be held at the Biotechnical Industry Organization, 1201 Maryland Avenue., SW, Suite 900, Washington, DC.
Your participation will be extremely valuable given your demonstrated leadership in the women's health community and your commitment to improving women's lives.
Engaging the Women's Health Community in PCORI's Women's Health Research Focus will facilitate dialogue on these and related topics:
• Improving patient engagement in research
• Multi-cultural challenges in research
• Gaps in women's health research
Roundtable participants will build relationships, identify research needs and accomplishments, and examine patient centered outcomes research and informed decision making.
Please mark your calendar for this important women's health event.
I look forward to learning from your unique insight on these issues at the roundtable.
Please RSVP to Beth Battaglino, RN, by or before April 3.
Although we very much hope that you personally can join us, if you are unable to attend, please consider designating someone in a senior leadership position with your organization to represent you.
Please contact me directly, should you have any questions about this invitation.
A modest stipend is available if your travel needs exceed 100 miles from Washington, DC. Please indicate by email if you would like to be considered for this stipend.

About PCORI
The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization located in Washington, DC.
PCORI's mandate is to improve the quality and relevance of evidence available to help patients, caregivers, clinicians, employers, insurers, and policy makers make informed health decisions. Specifically, PCORI funds comparative clinical effectiveness research, or CER, as well as support work that will improve the methods used to conduct such studies.
The goal of our work is to determine which of the many healthcare options available to patients and those who care for them work best in particular circumstances. This goal is achieved by taking a particular approach to CER called Patient-Centered Outcomes Research, or PCOR research, which addresses the questions and concerns most relevant to patients. PCORI involves patients, caregivers, clinicians, and other healthcare stakeholders, along with researchers, throughout the process.
