There are many ways to describe the role Eve has played during her more than 20 years of work in healthcare communications: a visionary, a trailblazer, an advocate and a strategist. Throughout this time, her unwavering passion and dedication to supporting health care access, innovation and outcomes have earned her the respect and admiration of her peers.
Vox Medica Health Care Public Relations, now part of Vox Medica, Inc., flourished as a practice under Eve’s leadership. Her communications work has spanned a number of therapeutic categories, including mental health, oncology, respiratory and women’s health, and health initiatives that specifically address the underserved needs of seniors and multicultural populations. Eve was an integral part of the agency’s award-winning campaign with the National Coalition on Aging called My Medicare Matters, a national community activation program that enrolled seniors in Medicare Part D. Her work has also garnered three Silver Anvil Awards from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), two Philadelphia PRSA Pepperpot Awards and recognition as a 2008 Mover and Shaker in the annual PharmaVOICE 100.
Prior to founding Vox Medica Health Care Public Relations (formerly Signova) in 1999, Eve was a member of the senior management team of the top-ranked global health care agency, Manning, Selvage & Lee (MS&L), where she was the managed care counselor for all health care clients and also directed the formation of MS&L's constituency relations practice. She also served as the national account director for several major clients, including (then) Pharmacia and Roche, as well as serving as senior counsel to the Kaiser Permanente and General Motors Health Care Initiatives teams.
Eve joined MS&L in 1996 from Aetna-U.S. Healthcare, where she had been a vice president and head of communications. From 1988 to 1995, she was the lead communications consultant for Intracorp, a subsidiary of CIGNA and a pioneer in disease management and disability management services.
Eve is a graduate of American University in Washington, DC, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism. She is a member of the Global Board of Directors of the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association (HBA), where she oversees stakeholder relations and the HBA Advisory Board, whose membership is composed of senior executives in the health care industry. She was also a founding director of the Philadelphia HBA Chapter, a 2-year board member of the Metro Chapter and served as co-chair of the 2006 and 2007 Leadership Conferences. Eve has served on the steering committee for the Biotechnology Industry Organization’s Diversity Summit since the event debuted in 2009, bringing together leaders in workforce development, science education, health disparities and community outreach. She has been a board member of The Cancer Support Community of Philadelphia since 2005, and chairs the Strategic Marketing Committee.
